Clerkenwell Grind
Located in an east London warehouse Clerkenwell Grind is part of a chain of coffee shops that started in a cosy corner near Old Street roundabout in 2011. Today they have evolved into an eclectic group of venues; operating three restaurants, six café-bars, a production coffee roastery, all in prime central London locations. They even have an international-grade recording studio.
The Clerkenwell branch is not your average coffee shop/restaurant, in fact, it's one of the most beautiful we have seen. With an art deco interior like something Marlene would love, this Grind has recently won many design awards and was named one of the most ‘instagrammable’ restaurants by Wallpaper magazine. High praise indeed! And it's what lies beneath that'll make you love it even more because this one is all caffeine, delicious food and killer soundtracks by day and downstairs, by night a beautiful bar and a DJ booth. Bridging the gap between caffiene fuelled days and party-filled nights, Clerkenwell Grind offers the perfect location to seamlessly transition between the two, and with a venue like this, who wants to move.
Upstairs there's a selection of hot drinks, juices, smoothies and their home-roasted coffee. It opens early so you'll find something tasty from breakfast to sunset from pancakes and banana toast to sweet potato harissa cakes or crab tagliatelle. Downstairs, of course, there are going to be coffee cocktails! Delicious concoctions such as 'House flat white Russian' and 'Espresso Old Fashioned.' If you've had enough caffeine for one day, why not try the 'Chilli Mojito on the Rocks' or a selection of wines. It's open until 2 am and available for private hire.
All three of their restaurants; London Grind, Clerkenwell Grind and Exmouth Market Grind, offer quality dining from dusk until dawn and are brunch destinations of the discerning during the weekends. All six café-bars pioneered the model of coffee by day, cocktails by night. Led by their Shoreditch-roasted Grind House Blend coffee, and signature Grind Espresso Martini, the offering spans hot drinks, juices, smoothies, cocktails, beers, and wines. And if you don't have time to relax in the aesthetically pleasing surroundings, you'll be pleased to know that they offer a great value takeaway menu.
Back to the Grind we go....only question is, which one?
