Fast Forward
Each season, Mark Fast is one of London's highly anticipated shows, elemental to this city's LFW schedule and aesthetic. AW23 was a meld of self-reflection and future, looking to the genesis of the brand and the start of the century while exploring fashion's future through the lens of genderless design. Renowned for pushing the boundaries of knitwear, Mark Fast has become synonymous with excellent craftsmanship and a high dose of positive energy while also looking to experimental means of wear.
This season there are the signature knits and the technical elements, the DNA threads that run through each collection. Each hand-knitted creation designed on the body ensures sensually sculptural silhouettes with the continued utilisation of lycra with luxury textiles and innovative stitching techniques. AW23 looks to Y2K in a neon-inflected nod to underground parties and all that evoke elation, from the acid-washed denim to cargo pants and puffers and high-gloss tempered by houndstooth and jacquard. There were recognisable design codes and welcome changes as the brand took cues from decades past while inviting us to release our inhibitions. Male models strode into the future with conviction in knitted jumpsuits and halter tops fit for all and other elements of menswear that offered the chance to explore style identities.
This collection launches as the brand continues to build its loyal following and increase its growth in the Asian market with a focus on developing designs with innovative and inclusive elements, welcome developments and features that will continue to cement the brand's place as one of the most highly regarded accessible luxury labels both at home and internationally.
