New Surroundings
Another year has begun, time to reflect on the past and make plans for the new. Resolutions have many forms, fitness, relationships; careers may change, even homes. This year you might be moving, in the literal sense or not. You might just need a refresh of your familiar surroundings. And how you dress your haven could be the inspiration in itself for the new you.
We've found you an abode with elegance, stimuli for your new sanctuary. Welcome to the beautiful former home of Norwegian blogger/author Maja Hattvang. Here you'll find rooms where classical paintings soften modern wooden lines. A place where you can recline on a retro velvet chaise while your companion relaxes into a piece of perspex chrome modernism. The sumptuous green velvet and brushstrokes of art pop against the white walls and bare wooden floors.
Everything looks perfectly placed yet natural. Small towers of magazines sit on chairs; stacked books lean against windows, art dots windowsills. It is stylish but not contrived. A little like Maja. She eschews trends and follows her own path. Having graduated with a degree in aesthetics followed by time at the prestigious Westerdals school of art and communication, she has built a considerable following on her site and recently published a skincare book entitled "Naturlig Nok" (Naturally). And now, a new chapter and abode, we look forward to seeing what she does with the next space.
Until then, take a virtual walk through this beautiful home and enjoy. They say that life imitates art and with a backdrop like this, life is beautiful.
